These elections cost the city about $10,000 for each election. It's becoming increasingly apparent that not many people really care about the business of the city. Therefore, I have a new plan.
First, let's dispense with elections. They cost too much. Second, we can declare the sitting council as a totalitarian government. There will be no need to elect anyone anymore. Discussion was not much of an activity, anyway, so it won't be missed. I will move to Wylie and that would put our new totalitarian government into a good mood. You still have enough money to pay a little bit more in taxes each year. Staff, P&Z, and City Council can zone everything for 10 story office buildings. Thus, there is no need for zoning meetings anymore. Life would be good. Everybody wins.........and there is no conflict........because you must all go to the mandatory city functions.........or you go to jail. "Officialdom" will let you know when and for what reason you can sell any property you may still own after taxes. You no longer have to think.
What a deal.
