Are there flaws or imperfections? Yes, as in all plans. However, the USA is still the best country in the world to live in. I feel the best country ever. We're still a work in progress. Some flaws need tending. The key to improving upon the flaws is the PURSUIT itself. As people work toward improving their own destiny, they are improving upon all, including the less fortunate. This is because of the American's generosities.
The funding for the armies, roads, ports, and the indigent comes from revenue created by Americans, NOT the government of Americans. The government can print money, borrow it, or tax it. To print money only dilutes the value of the money you already have. Not an answer. The government can borrow from, say China. We don't have enough time to discuss all the bad things about that decision, including making your grand kids and great grand kids pay your bill. Thirdly, the government can tax the wages and incomes of Americans in the pursuit of happiness.
The secret to creating new revenue for government services is creating new revenue from goods and services produced by Americans pursuing happiness from jobs that previously did not exist. In other words, create new revenue, and thus capital, from new products, services and jobs from Americans building things and creating jobs. If increasing taxes are assessed against current job incomes without creating new jobs, then AMERICANS ARE WORKING TOWARD THEIR OWN DEMISE.
Folks, this is not brain surgery or Chinese arithmetic. It's pretty simple.
Now, I want someone to explain to me the purpose of killing off thousands of jobs before other jobs are in place to absorb laid off workers. Don't cite climate warming. That won't fly. That's only an excuse to cover up stupidity or some other sinister plot. Is climate important? Yes. However, the needle moves very slowly and we are improving, and it takes time.....a lot of time. For those who might be interested, there has been three ice ages since Snowball Earth. Hundreds of thousands of years separate the ice ages, but we have only escaped from the last one about 20,000 years ago. Some might suspect some warming might be programmed into the earth's evolution without any help from humans at all.
But, getting back to explanations, I am sure the pipeline workers, the southern wall workers, and all the other peripheral businesses, measured in the tens of thousands, would be interested in hearing why their jobs were eliminated. Global warming won't work.
As an American, I am waiting for explanations of why the elimination of the Keystone pipeline and all other related numbskull decisions were made by "leaders" in Washington to "better" the American people. There was no "betterment." IT WAS PAY DAY!!
If one follows the logic of the opening paragraphs, please explain to me the wisdom of enormous costs associated with the COVID virus ($2-$3 TRILLION} and the government aid associated with it, vs the elimination of very well paying jobs. How's it going to be financed? China? Print money? Tax existing American incomes? Or, brilliantly eliminate jobs before new ones are created, and revenue from those jobs, then tax the ones that are left?
Folks, the absolute worst Hollywood writer could never have written a script as utterly stupid as the real life script written by Democrats over the past three weeks. However, sadly, the real stupidity resides in the voters that put this moronic "leadership" into office. I am saddened. Not by the morons in Washington DC, but by citizens that either never knew, or forgot, why the United States was founded in the first place. The pursuit of happiness is really kinda fun.
I'll be awaiting your explanations.
