To the ones who move on, best of luck and there are plenty of noble places to serve this community. To the ones that won, buckle up, Cheeko. We have a long way to go. The party's over.
We have another election in a few months. It is a very important one. I hope someone is paying attention.
I was very disappointed in this election's turnout. We had about a thousand voters. It should have been 10 times that amount. My poling place is Schrade Middle School. When I arrived on Saturday at about 10:40, the parking lot was nearly full. I was surprised. I mistakenly thought this election was of great interest to the voters. Oops. Not so fast Murphy. The cars in the parking lot were for parents and students, presumably enrolling for something. When I voted, I was number 8 for the day. My neighbor voted at 2:00, and he was number 14. I do not want to tell any of my friends outside of Rowlett what our vote count was. I would be too embarrassed.
I hope someone wakes up and rubs their eyes before the next election. You can't tell. It might be important. Of course, there must be some degree of intellect to at least wake up. Some apparently think an advanced degree is needed to rub your eyes and get out of bed.
Do you have any idea how high your taxes are going to go with the home value inflation currently going on? I presume it's okay with you to send our entire staff on a paid holiday to the Virgin Islands. Oh, that's too blatant? How about assistants for all our assistant's assistants? Rowlett voters don't seem to care, anyway.
Some (many?) must need some help. Cheez.
