Why didn't we vote into office nothing but great leaders? They exist in both national parties, although policies differ. The line referenced above rather brilliantly provides the answer. The line cuts across all social, economic, and party lines. It applies to local, state, and federal elections. It's the best written line I have seen for several years. It references election results. The line is:
"pitfalls that come when personalities prevail in an election, rather than substantive knowledge."
I like that line.
We have state and national elections, soon. If I were King of the United States, and if you didn't have evidence that you voted, you would not be allowed to complain about anything.....until you finally voted. Next Spring we have no local election, but the year after, we do. Locally, we have some important issues. It's time to start thinking about our city's performance to date. A year and a half goes by very quickly. However, its just enough time to start digesting information and forming up ideas about what you would like in the evolution of Rowlett. Rowlett can be so much more than it is. Something is slowing us. Be wary of unsubstantiated claims of greatness, and the number of parades one marches in is irrelevant.
