A discussion has been going on about appointments to committee volunteer work. One side says that to volunteer for a committee, you must fill out an application for a committee, turn it into the City Secretary, and she then compiles the info and forwards the list of volunteers to City Council for interview and subsequent appointment. That is all true. I have been interviewed and I have done some interviewing. But, that's not quite the full story.
There is a committee that you can't volunteer for. These committee volunteers are selected solely by members of City Council. The committee is the City Charter Committee. You can't volunteer for it in the way of other committees. These members are solicited and selected solely by Council.
Remember this information. You're going to need it. Some quasi "officialdom" dignitaries are not telling the whole truth......exactly what they are accusing a respected citizen of doing.
You really have to watch some of these people. In my opinion, there is a loose confederation of "City Hall good ole' boys" that are manipulating a lot of information. I intend to root around some more. I'm going to see if I can flush out some so that you can look at them. Handle with care, tho. Their importance makes them very fragile. They sometimes cry a lot. Or, as my Mom used to say, "they whine a lot." Sometimes I think their crying is a coordinated effort. It looks better to have new ones crying from time to time rather than having one or two crying all the time.
