Seems to be some activity in Homestead at Liberty Grove subdivision. I counted 7 housing starts a couple of day ago. Contrary to starting a model home complex, Cambridge and Weekley are starting units scattered thru out the subdivision. I just hope they sell. If they don't, we may have a black eye. This subdivision is running way behind normal development schedules.

There seems to be a new spurt in activity rebuilding tornado damaged homes, particularly the ones with bare slabs. Of course, that is good.

I see utility piping is being "spotted" where needed on the Bayside location. Enormous amounts of dirt have been rearranged at the old Robertson Park site. The developer is not slowing down. At this rate, some vertical construction should begin late this fall. That will be good for Rowlett.

I'm a little concerned about spending another $2 million for water meter administration. We just spent a lot of money for water system equipment. I'm not saying it's the wrong thing to do, necessarily. However, I am saying that the citizens ought to be given the numbers to prove that this is the smart thing to do. There seems to be a whole lot of repairing that could be done around Rowlett before I begin to worry about water meters.

You can't get away from politics nowadays. I was watching Leon Panetta give his speech last night at the Democrat convention. When he mentioned stopping ISIS, the delegates from Washington and Oregon started chanting "No more war, No more war," to the extent that Panetta was drowned out. I had a course called "Logic" in college. Essentially, it taught students to just follow the facts without emotion. If I follow the facts, the delegates from Washington and Oregon was encouraging that we "stand down" and do nothing, while ISIS murdered us at their leisure. I think I'm opposed to the Washington and Oregon Democrat delegations.
