The lies being circulated about this apartment complex will stagger the imagination. I have heard from several sources that it is a 300 unit project. That is a blatant lie. It is said it is designed for all the poor people in Dallas. That is a blatant lie. It is said the tenants in the trailer park will be turned out into the cold. That is a blatant lie.
The real sadness to me is the number of people that manufacture lies in this town. And, the number of people that will believe anything they are told.
This blog site has the facts. It's all here, but you have to read it. You can't take a pill.
The proposed apartment project is 114 units, not 300. There are no Section 8 or Walker Vouchers programed as part of the proforma. However, by law, if someone appears with a Section 8 voucher, and they qualify with all other criteria, you must allow them to rent. This is true on all rental residential property.......even houses in subdivisions. In this case, the marketing thrust is for Seniors.
The proposed developer comes under a Federal jurisdiction. The developer MUST provide for the relocation of the tenants. More often than not, it is to the tenant's benefit. A federally approved consultant determines the aid for tenants. The developer must follow the consultant's plan.
The proposed developer is an owner/operator. That means they have to maintain the project. They won't build cheap. Cheap costs too much to maintain. They currently own and manage $1.6 Billion in projects. Yes, that's a "B." Think they know how to do it?
Everybody should get their heads back into the sunshine.
